Systemic failure allowed the attempted Christmas Day attack on a Detroit-bound flight from Amsterdam.


President Barack Obama said that a systemic failure allowed the endeavor Christmas Day attack on a Detroit-bound flight from Amsterdam. The president wants a preliminary result by Thursday from two investigations he has ordered to inspect the many descends that occurred. It will take weeks for a more comprehensive investigation into what allowed 23-year-old Nigerian carrying explosives onto the flight regardless of the fact the suspect had potential ties to al-Qaida, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was on one optional list as the suspect, according to Obama, but never made it onto more containing lists that would have fixed the interest of U.S. counterterrorist screeners, despite his father's warnings to U.S. Embassy officials in Nigeria last month. However, those warnings did not result in Abdulmutallab's U.S. visa being revoked.
